After messing around for hours and searching for another hour I'm throwing in the towel and asking for help. I have some torn paper mask that I have no idea how to use; I've made a clipping mask and then tried changing the blending style and nothing looks right! How in the world do you use them? I'm super new to Photoshop and have CS5 running on Windows 7. Thank you in advance!!
can you tell me the designer and what masks? I can play with them and help. I am headed to bed right now, but will play in the morning! I am so proud of you trying, and you are gonna be a pro soon!
I think what you need to do... open the mask by itself it is a template all on it's own. then just like in a template, bring your photo onto the photo layer. once you get it how you want it. highlight all the layers and then drag onto the new canvas? does that help? I am a bit tired, so mush brain..but I remember I would pull it onto my new canvas and it wouldn't work.. let me know what product it is, and I can get it from the store and play with it in the morning and do a quick tutorial for you
I started out with Dearest Diary; moved onto the psd files from The Old Curiosity Shop, moved onto the psd files for the Harmony Oversized Torn Paper Masks and that's when I called it quits for the night LOL All by Dawn Inskip Thank you for helping...again...LOL!!!
I just wish I would have asked for help after the first hour vs waiting until I was on the verge of tears LOL!
I used to almost hyperventilate trying to figure it out...my hands would be all sweaty and I would get so mad... just remember to save, and then push buttons. I am all proud of you trying blend modes! that is fantastic..and you are trying new things! There is usually someone around to help, and if they don't know, eventually someone will, heck I couldn't go to sleep until it was done...lol so scrap on! i am gonna sleep! lol
Thank you! I reached a whole new level of frustration tonight LOL!!! Never in a million years would I have thought to open them first! I'm stepping away for the night and starting fresh in the morning...the girls are total morning birds!
Anne to the rescue again! You're making me want to play with these too.... especially now that you've both figured out the easiest way!
Right!!! I wasted 4 hours I think it was before giving up and asking for help! I'm so glad I did though! This was the first page I made the following morning for the Scraplift challenge for the Month of Challenges.
I want to try that next! I was going to try that with another layout but took the easy way out and used a stacked ephemera pack that came with the kit LOL
