I see I read American Wife back in 2008 and it was a two star book for me.

Right now, I'm reading White People a collection of short stories.

and Memories of a Pure Spring which so far has not been easy going but I've only read short bits before falling asleep at night so that may be the issue!

I just started The Wonder by Emma Donohue (pre-release from NetGalley). Not sure how I'm going to like the time setting but we'll see. I just finished "The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper" = super cute book!

The fictional telling of the JonBenet story sounds interesting Cheryl, are you enjoying it?

We recently went to see the Winchester Mystery house, and I've been reading a biography of Sarah Winchester. Almost finished.

I'm listening to The Beasts Garden

It's sort of a retelling of Beauty and the Beast set in Nazi Germany. It's very well written so far.

    And I'm reading
    [IMG]
It is a lovely gentle tale of a tiny (made up ) European country. Loving it...

If you're into modern-day British detective mysteries, I recommend the Duncan Kincaid-Gemma James series by Deborah Crombie. I just finished reading all 16 of them in the series and have to wait until 2017 for the next one. The first two books are good, the next two are better, then 5 through 16 are excellent!

It's different. It's from the brother's point of view, so hard to read in some sections (for me anyway) because of the disorganized way his thoughts come out. LOL Overall, I've enjoyed it!

I have it ... was given to me by a friend who finished it.. not sure I want to bother.. reminds me of the takeoff of Stephanie Myers who originally was writing Midnight Sun from Edward's point of view of Twilight

I did not care for Casual Vacancy either.. just really couldn't get in to it either.. I like Jo's writings of HP but did not care for the Casual Vacancy which makes me skeptical of reading the other non HP books

Yeah I loved that Midnight Sun... was mad when the 10th anniversary was I thought Stephanie was going to finish & release that instead she re wrote Twilight from Bella being a guy and Edward being a girl... I found it interesting but I love the original and really wanted Midnight Sun. :)

I have not read The Casual Vacancy, but her Cormoran Strike books written as Robert Galbraith are really well done.
