Hello everyone! We will be starting a speed scrap in the chatroom in about 10 minutes! I will post all of the steps here too if you want to just follow along here. I'll add all the steps to this first post. If you play along, simply follow my steps and then post your page in the Speed Scrap Gallery by 11:00 pm EST and also post it in here when you are done. Everyone who completes their page by the deadline will receive a fun prize! Here are the steps: STEP 1 – Let’s start with at least 3 vertical strips of paper layered together and slightly off center to either the left or right. They should go off the top of the page and stop short of the bottom of the page. My strips have a triangle cut out of them, like a banner or flag shape (wasn’t sure what to call it.) but yours can be just regular strips. Add a coordinating background paper. STEP 2 – On top of the paper strips add some photos. I used 4. I have a 5th photo elsewhere to make it an odd number. That is not required. STEP 3 – Create and vertical column of journaling on the opposite side of your layout from your paper strips. So if your strips are off to the right side, add journaling on the left side. If your strips are off to the left side, add journaling on the right side. STEP 4 – If you have a lot of journaling, I want two sections of journaling, with a title in between the sections (so some journaling above the title and some more journaling below the title all in a vertical column). If you have a small amount of journaling, place a title either above or below your journaling. (note: my 5th photo is in line with my journaling column and my title, this is NOT required) STEP 5 – Add a border of some kind to your layout. It can be a tiny bit of paper all the way around the edge, it could be a doodled border or it could be a painted border. Anything goes. STEP 6 – Elements – add at least 3 elements above (like on top of) your pictures (like buttons, flowers or fasteners) and add at least 3 elements below (like partially underneath) your pictures (flatter elements or paint or doodles) STEP 7 – Add a date. If it’s getting lost on your layout, consider using a little label or date tag. You can add anything extra that you want! Can't wait to see the pages from these steps and the conversation in the chat tonight! ETA: Here is the layout I used for the instructions:
I love my page, but just the way it turned out, I think I'm going to make a cover page or something to go beside it. It feels like the right side of a two page layout.
This was a ton of fun - I think I may be addicted now! I love all the interpretations of the instructions. Gorgeous pages, everyone!
Oh wow! You got serious rocked this speed scrap so much! I love every single one of these layouts! I've left you all some love and sent your prize via "conversation" so make sure you check there. Thanks for everybody playing along and for the fun chatting last night too!
