This is one I gave 5 stars to and it really touched me how sheltered/naive/backward etc Nora was. She does come into her own slowly in this story of a woman in 1960s Ireland.
I just finished a trilogy and now I'm waiting eagerly until the start of 2017 for part 4. It's the Invisible Libraby by Genevieve Cogman. If you like a victorian/steampunk feel, Sherlock Holmes (@Dalis ?) and books plus a love triangle: read this! Here's the Goodreads page for book #1: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/21416690-the-invisible-library?ac=1&from_search=true
i read this a while back too - i think it was too steam punk for me and i'm not really a Sherlock fan, i didn't continue the series but i must have picked it up cos the blurb reminded me of the TV series The Librarians and the movies with Noah Wylie cos i wrote in goodreads "the start was promising, the end was quite good but i think it floundered in the middle to 3/4 mark - if you pick it up b/c the blurb reminds you of the tv series and movies called The Librarians like I did, you may be a bit disappointed... "
i thought i picked this one up because of a recommendation in this thread but maybe it was cos the above authors name stuck with me and apparently Britt marie is a character in that book as well but this is also considered a standalone - if you loved The Pilgrimage of Harold Fry or The Storied Life of AJ Fikry, i think you would love this book
I've just started Noumenon and love it. I also followed a recommended link to another book 4 3 2 1 which is another interesting looking sci-fi story that is now also on my wish list to read in 2018.
