I know enough about photo editing in PSE to do okay... but when it comes to landscape photos, I struggle.

Is there a way to brighten up the sign but still keep the beautiful blue of the sky? I am sure it has to do with layer masks or something, but to be honest I am not too familiar with those. Everything I do causes the blue to fade.

    Hi Desi,

Yes there is a solution to your problem. You can edit one photo for the background look that you want and another for the sign. Clip the two together so that they stay in alignment and use a brush to reveal just what you'd like to see. You could also play with blending modes to see if you can achieve the look you want. I'm sure there are other methods as well. There are usually more than one way of doing things. Good luck!

Desi, I did it with a curve adjustment layer and then masked out the background:

You are so welcome. I also did an exposure adjustment layer too to boost the gamma just a little.
