I've been trying to just deal with it because I didn't want to bother anyone this month, but now it's driving me bonkers. Everytime I comment, like or in anyway respond to media or threads, somehow I automatically start watching it. Today when I came in I had 524 alerts in 2 days! Some days I'll come in and there's nothing, no alerts or automatic watches, but days like today are really making crazy and not wanting to comment on layouts and posts. Can someone please look into this please?

Likes your Layout Someone likes your Layout Likes your album Someone likes your album Shares an album Someone shares an album with you Rates your media or album Someone rates your media or rates your album Comments on your media or album Someone posts a comment on your media or on your album Likes your comment Someone likes a comment you made Mentions you in a comment Someone mentions you in a comment but this is where to go to see what you want to be notified about...sorry about all the alerts! but we are an active place! lol
I've done all of that Anne believe me. The first 15 mins of each visit here is UNchecking "watch thread" or "watch media" on anything I posted from my last visit - which I surely don't need or want to follow, the site just does it on it's own. It reverts right back when I leave the forum, or even sometimes when I'm still here! What I've been having to do it once I say, leave a comment on a few layouts. I have to leave the group, then come back into the group and UNcheck each layout where it now says I want to watch the media. I'm not doing this, the forum is automatically. This is how I have my alert preferences set - but as I said above, everytime I comment, like or in anyway respond to media or threads, somehow I automatically start watching it.

You're welcome! You'll probably still have to go manually unwatch galleries and such that you're already watching, but at least you won't accidentally watch new ones.
Oh my goodness, if you stopped my 999+ alerts that I get a day, you are a genius!! I've given up unchecking things because nothing worked and I kept getting a gazillion messages! I finally turned off my email so I stopped getting a thousand emails a day from TLP!
Yes!!! After all day yesterday and today, I have just a couple of notifications!!! Thank you SO much for this help! Those notifications were out of control. Don't get me wrong, they made me feel loved, but I sure did get overwhelmed and missed a lot--including a lot of tagging (is that that the @ is called? )
I did indeed. Seems like I had to change them about a year ago, lol, during the previous MOC. I didn't participate but boy did I do alot of looking and liking. Over the year, I'd slowly added check marks back. It's a nifty feature especially for one with memory issues like me. See you here next year?
