Yes, make 30 pins and 5 of them will look ok! LOL! Seriously, I still haven't figured out what to do. I've tried different images and I had better results when the image was already approx. 400x400 pixels @ 300 dpi. When it was bigger and I tried to resize it, it gave me jagged edges (I don't know what I'm doing wrong).
sorry I am late ... just uploaded mine and hope they make it into the mix. It's a mish-mash ... I was going to do summer fruit (and did the strawberry) but then saw a bunch of others did fruit, was going to do summer BBQ too (and did the marshmallows) but saw hamburgers and hotdogs were also done ... so I finished up with a few veggies (summer garden theme). I love everyone's pins so much! Cute stuff girls!
I think I finally found my system for making these! I took notes ... so I'll be back in a bit with my process. I use all styles for mine, no changes. And I don't use the actions.
here's what I did: Note: I use solid shapes - not outlines. I get each piece on it's own layer and colored the way I want the enamel to look. So for the eggplant for example: I just have the green solid fill of the stem on one layer and the purple filled eggplant body part on another layer. Duplicate all layers. The top layers are going to be for the rims and the bottom layers will be for the enamel. Add Enamel Rim Style (in the appropriate size) to each duplicated top layer (leave orig bottom layers alone for now). You change the color of the rim on the stroke effect w/in layer style dialogue box, the default is a silver/petwer color. Erase outer rims that overlap as needed. When all metal rim style sizes are set up > merge the rim layers then add Pin Builder - Metal Rim Style to the merged rim layers. Dup this layer and hide the top one (will come back to this hidden rim layer at the end). Now go to original (bottom) layers - duplicate each of these. Add Enamel Style to each bottom layer (in the appropriate size). Add Extras Style to each top layer. Merge all (including metal rim) but not the extra hidden rim layer (top layer). Make the extra hidden rim layer visible & use Metal Rim Undershadow Style on it. Merge all and save as PNG I usually don't add the Metal Pin - Add Depth Style but you can try it and see if it looks good. The only tweaking I do to the styles is to change the color of the metal rim if need be.
LOL.....me either. I keep thinking that I have it figured and then the next time I make one I seem to be back at square one. They are so much fun though. I have learned alot from the trial and errors of this challenge Thanks for the tip about the size, I will keep that in mind next time I am looking to make one.
I am about to post, Penny! I will have the July and August running at the same time. Once we put the July up at the store the July one will be gone and I want to give people time to grab it since it was a bit late.
OMG, ladies you have OUTDONE yourself. Here is the preview. I am going to wait a couple of days before I request to get the zip file uploaded to make sure everyone got theirs.
