Hello, welcome to August! I'm thrilled to be helping out and hosting this month's journaling challenge. Lately I have been spending quite a bit of time going through older photos of my kids. You see, I'm on the cusp of the empty nesting phase of parenting and while I still have a bit of time to cherish with my kids at home, I am more than aware that the day they fly the coop is coming sooner rather than later. So when I see these sweet photos of my kids so small and so dependent on me, my heart does little flips of joy and my breathe feels like it is almost uncatchable at times. The feelings and words seem to just run off my tongue. Basically what I'm trying to say is that I'm filled with so much love and emotion. So, I want you to find a photo or think of a subject that takes your breathe away and fills you with emotion ... good or bad, happy or sad ... and journal with those emotions. Here's my page: As always: your page must contain at least 75% Lilypad product. Your page should be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and then linked to the Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked, and to this thread. The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges' the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month: 2 challenges = 10% off 4 challenges = 20% off 6 challenges = 30% off If you complete 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate from the Lilypad (new prize starting with the July challenges)! The first seven challenges will be posted on the first of the month' the eighth challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges).
absolutely - do whatever you like to your page ... just looking for a little bit of emotion in your journaling. the page doesn't even have to have a photo - you can do an AJ page about a subject if you'd like.
I kept this layout really simple as it was all about the journaling. The background paper comes from Just Jaimee's "Oh Baby" kit.
Oh my goodness you guys ... I have cried and laughed and smiled with all of your pages so far. So good!
This was a tough page for me to do, but one that has been on my mind and my heart. We said goodbye last month to my favorite uncle, who was really more like my granddad (my grandparents weren't around). He was such an incredible man, and I wish I had said "thank you" to him when he was living. That's hard. Anyway, thanks for letting me process!
Every time I drive through this, it makes my heart beat a little faster. In a split second, those people were gone. I just cannot imagine.
Thanks for the great challenge. It was hard to choose - most of my photos make me emotional! My son just moved out last week too...
