I saw this on Facebook the other day and thought it would be a perfect prompt: Give Me One Song. One Song only that means a lot to you. I will listen to it. Then I will know you much better Create a layout either using lyrics, telling the story of why it is an important song to you, or whatever you want. Please include the song title and artist so we can look up the lyrics and get to know you better. Here's mine (Carilyne): A song that has had a progression of meaning lately And Erin's (Chickypaw)
I still don't speak German, btw. I fell hard for this song when it was released because I had no clue what they were saying. I could sing and sing, letting the words mean what ever I needed them to mean that day. Today, I'd have to call it "Instant Prozac," lol.
My song is Eavesdrop by The Civil Wars. I was so sad when they broke up! Love their music. The song is really about a relationship breaking up. To me I think of the words as my husband and my time alone. With six children sometimes our alone time isn't as long as we would like it to be. We have much more time for each other now with 2 children married one living in her own apartment, 3 more to go!
This is one song that has stayed with me through the past few years. I was on my way to work one morning, commuting at least an hour each direction (on a good day) to a job that was making me crazy. I was flipping through radio stations and this song came on, followed by Van Halen's Right Now, and It's My Life by Bon Jovi. I love all three songs, and it was such a weird coincidence to hear all three, I felt like the universe was trying to tell me something. I decided right then that I'd go back and finish my college degree. I ended up finding a crappier job, closer to home, but finished my BA, quit the crappier job, then completed a Master of Fine Arts and a Master in Education. But this song also has another layer of meaning as well, so I chose it out of the three.
I have a couple memorable songs that I want to scrap but this was the first one that came to mind. My best friend and I singing Cecilia by Simon and Garfunkel at the top of our lungs because the radio didn't work on our roadtrip. To this day I think of Kim (and usually text her) when "our" song comes on.
I will have to borrow your idea. I always think of my bestie when "Oh, Sherry" comes on. When we were growing up, it was one of the first times I'd gone over to her house, and she put on headphones (for whatever reason) and was singing along at full volume, not thinking about the fact that I couldn't hear the music. Come to think about it, I could probably do a whole mini album just on memorable/meaningful songs.
