So who is in this class? It started last Monday I believe ... and I am dieing to see some art work from the class! I am on the fence about jumping in ... I have so much on my plate at the moment. Not sure I have the time for it right now, but at $10 (It's 50% off!!) ... I think I have to buy it and then jump in "self study" next month when I have more time. Anyone in the class right now care to share anything?
I would also love to see some of the artwork. I am so not a mixed media artist when it comes to tangible product.
I'm taking it...but if I'm being brutally honest with myself, I'm not very good at it ! I'm such a "things I do must make sense" kinda of person, that I'm having a hard time randomly ripping and pasting down. Yeah, I'm the one that strategically tore *sigh*
I am taking this class and I am LOVING it! She breaks it down into super easy steps that make it easy to start and not over think anything. I have done about 6 starter backgrounds and turned two of them into finished pages. They aren't anything magazine worthy, but the fun I had in making them is the value to me. Tangie even gave us a $30 coupon to go shopping for collage sheets in her shop, so basically you only need a journal of any kind, some watercolors (cheapo crayola works) and a glue sticks to get started. Anyway, here are my first two pages: If you are even remotely thinking about this class, do it! It's been so cool and easy to start! The video lessons are like 9-13 minutes long so they aren't overwhelming and are a great place to start.
@Karen You did that with REAL stuff? Wow, that is amazing, I love both pages. Thanks for posting them.
@jenn mccabe @bbymks5 @Karen I just posted over there but since I am a bit late.... maybe you can post here.... I want to see your supplies... I love seeing supplies!
@Dalis My girls have managed to kill the cheapo paint brushes already LOL! I tried using their larger pan of watercolors from Michael's but the colors are so chalky that I went out and got the Crayola pan. I got the 50 pack of markers to use on coffee filters, you color on them and then spray with water and it's supposed to create a watercolor look, but I haven't tried it yet.
You could also use the markers as watercolors. Just scribble the markers in a plastic surface and then spray it and it will become watercolor. I used markers like that for almost all my rubber stamping coloring I did in my days! LOL!!!
I am enjoying this MM class! Like Tangie explains, "It isn't just about the end result, it's all about taking the time to play."
