Fonts for Project Life

Thursday, March 8th, 2012

Or scrapbooking in general!

I’ve been doing Project Life since April 2011, and I love finding fonts that work well for titles, journaling, cutting out words with my Silhouette digital cutter, and captioning photos.  Let’s take a look at a few of my favorites!

TITLE fonts

Here are some of my favorite fonts for TITLES for Project Life or any scrapbook page.

Here are the links to find these awesome title fonts.

Ostrich Sans  http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/ostrich-sans

And let’s see them in action.  :)

Here I used Pacifico to journal right on my photo.

Here I used Pacifico for the days of the week titles.

Here I used Mari & David as the title for this 4×6 journaling.

Here I used Ostrich Sans for the title of the orange “Super Todd III” journal card.

JOURNALING fonts

Here are some of my favorite fonts for journaling.

Here are the links to find the journaling fonts.

Rockwell  - comes with Microsoft Windows
Courier New  - comes with Microsoft Windows
Arial Narrow  - comes with Microsoft Windows
Let’s see them in action.

I used Arial Narrow in this 4×6 card with lots of journaling.

Here I used Typewriter Scribbled for the journaling on the right hand side.

I used Rockwell here for the body of the text.

CUTTING fonts
I love using my Silhouette digital cutter to cut sayings, letters, and numbers out!  Here are a few examples and links to fonts.

The Blackout font is super fun for cutting out sayings.

I also like to use Pacifico to cut out titles.

Chunk Five is a great font to cut big and bold items.
And lastly, a couple of fonts I love to use right onto the photos.

Impact Label (http://www.fontspace.com/tension-type/impact-label) looks like Dymo tape!

Stamp (http://www.dafont.com/stamp.font) looks like a date roller stamp!  So fun!

I hope you’ve found some font inspiration for your next Project Life page, scrapbook page, or craft project!  :D

Tuesday, October 25th, 2011

Hi Everyone,

Are you all surviving the hustle and bustle of Halloween planning?  We just picked up our pumpkins and have an idea of costumes for the kids, bought our Halloween candy … I think we’re on track …

Today’s Font Find is Clive Barker by Joseph M. Pence.  I think it’s a very cool Halloween looking font.  What do you think?  Here is the link – it’s a free download.  Enjoy.

Font Find Time!!!

Monday, October 10th, 2011

I dare bet the majority of us uses some sort of font on ALMOST every LO we do.  Sure, there are some exceptions, but as I look thru the gallery it appears that almost every layout in it has a font of some sort on it!  So today, I want to spotlight two fonts that I love and use lots of!  One is available here at The-Lilypad by our newly engaged ;) Heather Hess!!!  Click on image to be taken to store.

I am a huge fan of handwritten fonts and this one has got to be one of my favorites!  This font looks great big or small and has so many uses.  It is great for journaling, for a title, and I love the numbers for little dates on my layouts!  This one is a definite must have for your stash!  And just a nice thing about Heather’s fonts – I always know right where to look for them in my list – they all start with the word “THE”.  So easy to browse all her fonts in my photoshop drop down menu!!!  It’s the simple things folks – love it!

This next one is one of my favorites for titles!  I often will use this one in conjunction with an alpha for like one or two words in the title, just to mix it up a bit and keep things interesting!  Susie’s Hand font is a free font available at many font sites.  This font is definitely one of my go to fonts!

Hope I have fed your font addiction a little more today!  Enjoy!  MandaKay
